India has
always been a land of agriculture. At present, it ranks second in worldwide farm
output. India is bestowed with a fertile and varied quality land that has
blessed Indians to enjoy different types of harvest. Agriculture is
demographically the broadest economic sector and plays a significant role in the
overall socio-economic system of India. As of 2011, India had a huge and varied
agricultural sector, accounting, on average, for about 16 percent of GDP and 10
percent of export earnings. India's arable land area is 159.7 million hectares
(394.6 million acres) which is the second largest in the world, after the
United States. Its gross irrigated crop area is 82.6 million hectares (215.6
million acres) which is the largest in the world. India has developed to become
among the top three global producers of a broad range of crops, including
wheat, rice, pulses, cotton, peanuts, fruits, and vegetables. Government is
also supporting farmers in every possible way but still every 12hours 1farmer
commits suicide in India. Yes! It’s a fact and we must accept it. It is
essential to find the solution instead of neglecting it. Let’s analyze what
could be the possible reason for it…Is it the lack of resources? Or is it the
lack of funding from government? Or is it the change in season cycle? Or is it
the burden of loan? Or is it the losses farmers bear in selling grains at lower
cost? Or is it the lack of education which is making them deprived of
everything…?
As far as
statistics goes economic reason is the major problem behind suicide of farmers
but should it really be the main cause? In country like India where agriculture
is the main source of economy and can economy be the main reason for suicide of
farmers…Certainly Not! It’s the lack of education and information which leads
to this extreme situation.
Farming is a
lineage occupation in India. So the education and technology must help
enhancing the productivity but unfortunately either it is breaking the chain or
farmers are adopting illiteracy also in legacy. This practice is rooting
ignorance in farming sector and thus, farmers are not getting benefits of
agricultural schemes run by government. SearchSchemes.com is a platform
showcasing all the Central Government and MPGovernment Schemes and the procedure to avail them. People must spread this
information to the right people and help the farmers. With this initiative
SearchSchemes.com is trying to nurture dreams, flourish lives and bloom harvest.
